I am wanting to open a bank account here. The bank gave me a letter, addressed to BIR, asking that they give me a TIN. Can someone tell me what other documents that I will need to take to BIR with me? Do they issue the TIN while you wait?
OK Sir, best I can do for you this Morning. Mind I am not sure why you need a Tin. No one else has mentioned this before I certainly never did but of course we don't know what your Agenda is, so sorry it this seems nosy or intrusive Application for TIN - Bureau of Internal Revenue Other than this I guess a visit to the BIR is called for. JP
BDO does not require this. I think it was BDI that I visited that did though. Just wait until you decide to start a dollar account ! Better have 500 U.S dollars on you or it ain't going to happen !!!
I just opened an account at Bank of Commerce, No TIN required, but had to sign my name around 15 times. No prob for me while I had a coffee with the manager... I also have a BPI accout and wasn't asked for a TIN...
I hope i'm not going off topic but, my BPI money comes in U.S. Dollars and most of the time they are out of stock on dollars, so I have to fill out a long form asking what the money is for (once I wrote it was for wine, women and song!!)and all my personal information. Now they require my passport number if I must receive Pesos. The exchange rate is only slightly less than I get at the best money changer in town.
