Floats would seem like a great idea for a light airplane, especially in the Philippines. But floats have several huge drawbacks: they greatly decrease performance thus making the airplane slower and using much more EXPENSIVE fuel; the floats often cost as much as the airplane itself; aluminum hates salt water, so using them as a matter of course increases maintenance costs exponentially for the floats and the airplane...and amphibious floats are easily more costly than the airplane itself and, again, raises costs of maintenance and fuel even that much more.

 

I take your point my friend but I put this up as a Tongue in cheek answer, to getting it of the Beach.

 

Give an A+ to the pilot as that was a difficult landing, and no one was hurt. I know as I once had to make an emergency landing in a cornfield.
