    I am new to the area and would like to find a good children's dentist. Prefer someone who specializes in dealing with small children as this will be first visit to a dentist and I would like it to be a pleasant experience for her. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

    Can only give my best recommendation for Dra. Mel Park (daughter of one of DI's members). Work at Garupas practice on the same road as the immigration, going toward the Caltex station. Right hand side before the Caltex. Very gentle and detailed in her work.

    She only works after lunch for Dra. Garopa's clinic, in the morning she can be found in Dra. Guadalupe's clinic, inside Mom's Pharmacy, just down from the C & L pension house on lower Perdices' Street, opposite Sted's convenience store. She will be there Thursday morning from 9am onwards, currently in Cebu, doing a course on aesthetic dentistry.

    I take my kids to Dr Xandro Dael, he is clean, gentle Dentist and I can easily recommend him.

    His operation is upstairs near the corner of the National HM Daro and the turn off to the Silliman Medical center. Between the Bread Shop on the corner and "My Fetus" Gynecologist (Who I can also highly recommend for the missus).

    Thank you one and all for input and suggestions for a first time Dentist for my daughter. Unfortunately I took my daughter on Friday last week (as wqas first chance I got and she was beginning to complain of tooth ache). Well, unbeknownst to me it was a local holiday here so almost all the Dentists were closed. I ended up driving around and went to the two suggested Dentists above and either couldn't find them (I am new to Dumaguete) or they were closed due to Holiday. So, in a desperate situation to find a dental clinic open for a complaining daughter I finally found a Dentist who was open across from the General Hospital (I live in Bagacay and was desperately driving all over looking because nothing worse than seeing a child in pain). I found one finally a Dr. Sensano, he did a very good job with my daughter. He was very patient explaining everything to a 3 year old and thoroughly professional.. He initially did a temp filling to ensure the tooth could support a regular filling and we went home with no more complaints from her as pain was gone. She ate a big diner and had no pain that evening or the next few days so we then returned yesterday to have the permanent filling done and it was uneventful as Dr. Sensano had already put my daughter at ease the first time and resolved the pain. Everything went smoothly and my daughter is again the mostly happy and sometimes pain in the *** average three year old and she likes dentists as they take care of pain.

    The cost is P500/filling. He did a great job especially on a Holiday with no appointment and a grumpy 3 year old in pain. He only does Non-Amalgam fillings for those interested. His number is 0906-522-8642. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a regular filling with a nice Dentist.
