Well after 4 years and some table thumping and a Lot of Creeping from Her indoors, Northern Junob, South side are to get the very long awaited Secondary Supply line. This will put all our Meters within a reasonable Distance from our Houses. Ours is over 100 metres away on the Bagacay Valencia Road and can be a big problem at Night and in Really Bad weather should a problem happen. (It does of course) after this it will be just 20 mtrs from my Front gates. [ which is about as close as I can get it given post Metering is the in thing now] I know that there are invariably many Moans about Noreco II but for once it seems they really are trying to get some thing Moving. Yesterday, they Dug out 7 Holes and Today have Erected 6 of the Large Concrete Poles and 1 of the metal ones. (our only concession on this) This was to bring the Supply across the Barangay Road to our Service Pole. [well it is a perk I know but come on Guys and Gals] Tomorrow they will Thread the New Power Lines and the metering Section will do the Service Drops and Move all the Meters. Friday we will have the 10 kv Transformer Erected and If all goes well, We can use the A/C So for me, it is not all Doom and Gloom Jack, (Happy Jack today) ps, This puts the new power lines some 6.5 metres above Street level. ( how about that then!)
Very good news for you. I am sure you will see a reduction in power usage. A power meter is calibrated to 250V. Being that the meter is a stupid device and measures current flow thru the meter based on 250V to determine your power consumption. Any voltage below 250V means you have to use more current flow to compensate. Power =Voltage x Current. The long service drop wire causes a lot of power to be lost before it gets to your house.
So, about an Hour or so ago, the Captain popped in see how things were going on His new power lines (Of course he will take credit for things) Having the 3 wagons parked nearby gave him a Clue I may know something. He asked How come we were able to get the Pole men, Wire gang and Tree cutters all working Together and at the same time. Easy come in and join us EH? This I said is how you can people to do the job they are paid for, FEED them. Easy when to do a little for them Sir! Jack
You would think a Barangay Captain would have been around long enough to know how to get things done in the Philippines.
OH YES! but this one is a table thumper & it don't always work even among their own. According to the Engineer in charge when I asked him not long ago he said that 'Manuel' seems to Forget who he is sometimes. (or do I mean who he is not) His closing words were and I don't take Bribes or Threats. Say no More We have done our Bit and it is paying off. Jack
And how long do you think the line is of people who want him dead? It's not a smart way to go about business.
