    This guy will find himself personna non-grata for saying things like that.. LMAO

    It sounds like the install guys are related to the "Pole Climbers" that Smart used to send to service their canopy internet system.
    Every time those guys showed up the first thing they would say is you need to extend your antenna for P4,000.
    I suggested they check the signal strength before we would do anything.
    Here we go signal strength is -79 to -80 dB (very good). They said I should have at least -90 to -95 dB (worse).

    I finally cancelled the service and the supervisor at the Smart office tried to pocket my P566 refund.
    She was actually pissed when she had to take my money out of her purse.
    The nerve.

    Certainly a huge potential here, with more Smartphones than indoor toilets. Cannot come too soon!

    Telstra can sure teach these guys how to charge - I doubt if they will bring any pricing competition

    Agree Scott. I have been a customer since the market here in Australia was open to competition. My kids have gone with cheaper carriers and the business where I worked also. Each came back to Telstra due to the quality of the service provided - but all have paid more than the other two main competitors offerings.

    You get what you pay for ..........................

    (but not in the PH - you pay for what you don't get).

    But we choose to live here, so no good complaining.

    We have a saying in OZ - Don't like it - F**K OFF back where you came from .... Bit rough around the edges, but then so am I ......

    If you live in a Smart LTE coverage area, they have changed to surfmaxplus. They have started the usage limits for pre paid, not sure
    how limited it is yet but this is my speed at the moment.

    Good to see a positive result from lte for once! Let's hope it stays that way as I know dauin is way over subscribed already with lots of people complaining about the service.

    Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) expects the entry of Australia’s biggest telecommunications company to bring in tougher competition for the incumbent service providers.

    “Clearly, they will not come in without a fanfare and, of course, there is the novelty of a new entrant so some people will be tempted to try their service,” PLDT Chairman Manny Pangilinan told reporters on Tuesday.

    “We just have to be ready and we will be ready for them,” Pangilinan said.

    Australia's Telstra Corp. Ltd. is in talks for a joint venture with San Miguel Corp., the largest diversified conglomerate in the Philippines.

    The foreign telco is banking on the “lousy” mobile service offered by incumbent operators PLDT and Globe Telecom Inc. to get a slice of the Philippine telecommunications market.

    Not some, MANY. PLDT could use this as a reason to provide better service.....but I doubt they will. They will likely just try to put up as many road blocks using their government connections for the new provider as possible.

    LOL! If you believe this I have some beach frontage on the moon I wish to sell you. Telstra are easily the WORST company in Oz. This exercise would be nothing more than a group of suits having "meetings" in manila with a bunch of suits from makati - alot of notes taken, a few hot sexytarys delivering coffees,.at the end some high fiving then the Oz team straight off to the girlie bars . Of course the results of the meetings then are posted to Telstra shareholders who think they may see some value from the smelly Telstra shares which have tanked since a float as the company is so woefully mismanaged and burdened with waste. One thing we can be sure about is the Telstra suits will be itching to get backto makati again for more "meetings"
