2 more weeks, and I am out of this POS place!

And I am NOT renewing my Filipino Drivers License, nor my 13a Permanent Resident Visa.

5 years living in Bacolod City and 7 months here in Dumaguete is enough for me.

What cracks me up is that there is absolutely no evidence for an afterlife. I imagine the afterlife goes a lot like the "beforelife". Do you remember what it was like before you were born? Did you care that you weren't born yet? No,you probably don't. My guess is that you remember you life and and care about your death in the "afterlife" as much after you did before you were born. They are just erasing their consciousness from existence and there will be absolutely nothing aside from complete nothingness after they blow themselves up. In all likelihood, the joke is on them. :D

There is actually quite alot of "evidence" of afterlife/before life. Hypnotherapists regressing subjects { Delores cannon/Michael talbot ] report that over 7000 subjects ranging from all ages and cultures discuss prelife/after life in great detail with all details corresponding.

We have cases all over the world of subjects regressed who discuss other lives lived in great detail - names, places, mundane detail about cultures and societies they would not normally know.
We have almost every theology in the world [except christianity ] that discusses reincarnation as a matter of course. { However lot of the edited material out of the NT discusses reincarnation }. The Old Testament does not mention reincarnation but the Kabbala also discusses reincarnation in great detail. The Vedas, Buddhism etc all discuss consciousness after death

We have had numerous mystics report in great detail on the "afterlife" { refer Emanuel Swedenborg who wrote scores of books on the subject matter during the 18th c.

We have had numerous scientists and researchers such as Elizabeth Kubler Ross who write on consciousness after "death" { clinical death on the operating table where the brain has flatlined but the consciousness remains and is also non local { subject experiences consciousness from outside the body

On a philosophical side.. "complete nothingness" which you mentioned above cannot be found or can have no existence as a thing in itself. Consciousness is all there is.. Form is consciousness and consciosness is form as the Vedas state. Even Quantum physicists such as Heisenberg and Nils Bohr came around to finally understand this position. namaste

Well that really depends on your standards for what you consider "evidence". I have little faith in what mystics have to say or other similar anecdotal evidence. Personal experiences with the "afterlife" are, IMO, a result of the brain shutting down nonessential functions (such as your senses, consciousness, interpretation of reality) in an attempt to stay alive.

I'd be more willing to buy into the reincarnation idea but certainly not in the way it has been presented by the religions that promote it. We die and our body decomposes into nutrients that other living things can use....I suppose in a way parts of you would exist in the food chain for quite some time but I'd say there is about a 0% chance that there is any consciousness involved in that process though.

That's way off topic though....I suppose it's my fault as I started it with my obvious-troll comment. Will throw this in the off topic thread.

BTW: do you have a link to this study?
Entropy. When everything has been reduced to complete disorder it's impossible to make any sense out of it....it would essentially be "complete nothingness".

You may research firstly Dr Elizabeth Kubler Ross who spent her life studying NDEs. If the brain is shutting down how is it that the entities always report witnessing the event { operating theatre] from OUTSIDE the body??? What are they "seeing" with? { the eyes, the normal senses for seeing are 10ft below them inside a dead body - closed ]. Kubler Ross reported this many times as have other studies. One patient reported seeing a dime coin stuck inside the machine measuring his heart rate [ flatlined ] and Doctors on examination found a coin inside the machine. Kubler Ross had a blind subject [ blind from birth ] who described the operating theatre and doctors and nurses in detail. one patient floateed out of the building 6 floors up and reported a slip on , on a balcony [ which was verified when she came back from the dead ] etc etc

Scientific Evidence Supporting Near-Death Experiences and the Afterlife

Try and find an interview with hypnotherapist Delores Cannon on in between lives.

Buddhism is NOT a religion. It does not pose a deity, personal God or Gods.

If the entire Universe ceased to exist { leaving"complete nothingness" ] the potential for another Universe to come int o being is surely there right? { the Universe exists now, seemingly coming out of "nothing", therefore it could exist again, in the same way it came into being before right?] There fore the POTENTIAL for the Universe to come into being is ALWAYS there.. If there is potential there then there cannot be "absolute nothingness" as the potential itself must count for "something" -
