I'm thinking about moving to Puerto Gallera in Mindoro does anyone know a reliable Van Rental company. I need a driver aswell as need to move my motorbike etc.
This is just a tentative thought but would be grateful for any information so I can get an idea of costs etc.
    Cheers
    Mike

Do you need one to drive up there and pick someone/something up or will you need it once you arrive in Dumaguete? You might be hard pressed to find someone in Dumaguete willing to drive up there and back at a reasonable cost....if at all. You would probably have better luck finding someone local in Puerta Gallera or Calapan to drive your people (and/or stuff) down. At least then they would know you actually exist and wouldn't have to risk a long drive across 3 islands.

Unless you own very valuable personal possessions it is advisable to sell what you can here and repurchase once you get to Puerto Galera. IF you could find someone here who has a truck and is willing to drive you there the hassle and expense is not worth it unless you have family heirlooms that hold exceptional personal value. It will probably cost more than what your possessions are worth plus the hassle of getting through Barangay clearances in every province/barangay between here and there is a PITA and expensive.

I was tired when I replied last night, I see now you want to move from Dumaguete to Puerto Gallera. When I moved from Olongapo down to Dumaguete I used a door to door moving company that came to the apartment in Olongapo, put everything in crates and then moved it to the apartment in Dumaguete. That cost me around 50k pesos if I remember correctly (that didn't include the bringing the car down on the ferry). That company has since went out of business. I'm sure there are a few businesses around that offer the same service. I found a couple claiming to offer the service online.
