Anyone know of a Balikbayan container being organized for Dumaguete? I would like to take advantage of the US/AUS Dollar exchange if possible.
I have used BM Express for Balikbayan boxes from Sydney to Dumaguete and so far all good. For remittances I use Jalandoni and Company and have been very happy with rates and service. If transaction done before 10am Sydney time funds in the bank in 2 hours and rates beat the bank every time. Both these services suggested by Filipinos in Aus and I am happy so far. I used Forex. Excellent service. Picked up from small coastal village in Australia in 2 lots of 3, a week apart. Delivered to a small coastal village in Negros Oriental after about 8 weeks. Intact and unbroken. Automated emails arrived for each box detailing every step of the journey. Costs were (in $A), about $130 for the larger boxes, about $120 for the smaller. Unless you're thinking of shipping lots of boxes, the relative exchange rates seems to me a minor consideration compared to having your boxes delivered intactly and timely.
