I wonder what the standard is for showing that you can support a family. This being the Philippines, it probably shouldn't be more than like $200 / month.

If we passing laws how about a law to protect naive and gullible foreigners who buy land through their wife's name only to find their wife immediately leaves them, sells the land and leaves him scratching his head wondering what happened ?

Well it certainly lessens your chances of withholding finances you do not wish to disclose. If a Filipino was asked to do a means test to marry a Filipina I doubt if many would pass.

 

Well this will be good news to the USembassy as now they will get the opportunity to collect $100 more in notary fees.

 

It seems it all comes out of Jealousy. The foreigners are taking all the women and leaving the Filipinos in the dust.

How is this any better than when a Filipino has a kid with a Filipina. He skips town. Where are the laws on that? Where are the laws protecting the Filipinos when she is left with a kid and no money?

The Filipino population is just being big cry babies and also being greedy with money.
