The last 3 days have been the coldest I have ever experienced here in Pattaya. in the 8 years I have been
coming and going - last 2 years permanently. Very cold winds that have been increasing.
We live on 6th floor and have to keep the balcony doors closed. No fan needed and had a sheet on last few
nights as it got down to 17 degrees and below.
Are you guys in Dumaguete experiencing the same type of weather? No sign of it letting up yet.
I see China has experienced very cold weather - probably their bloody fault!

we have had this weather now for nearly a week, same strong windows all day and night, so you guys are much the same by the sounds of it - maybe to a lesser degree.

Yeah, aside from being soaking wet driving on a motorcycle, you will never really feel "cool" here. It is usually brutally hot here during the dry season, it has been just "uncomfortably hot" this year IMO. Maybe I have climatized.

Maybe you have climatized, but as a Brit only used to cold wet weather I think it's bloody hot.

It might be because I avoid going to Dumaguete during the day. It's quite pleasant during the day here in Valencia. A ceiling fan is all that's needed for me. I don't think I could stand to live in Dumaguete due to all the extra heat that the city puts off (I believe the temperature you see online is actually measured at the airport.....which isn't even Dumaguete). You can really feel it at night when driving up to Valencia even while still within the Dumaguete city limits. A couple hundred meters past Hypermart you can feel about a 5 degrees (fahrenheit) drop in the temperature as you are leaving the town. There is usually another noticeable temperature drop further up the hill by Bumblebees.

Today in Pattaya, the cold winds have stopped and it is back to warmer temperatures but not 'hot' at this stage. I was unable to swim at the condo due to the winds (pool on the roof) and the water was freezing. Had a swim this morning, but water was still very cold.
Valencia then is in 'hill district'? The weather then is usually cooler a little? Still anywhere near the beach though?

Valencia is noticeably cooler than Dumaguete. I've never lived near the beach so can't really speak much on that. I'd imagine anywhere out of the Dumaguete city limits is going to a bit cooler just because of all the traffic/pollution/lack of trees.
