Does anyone know a place here in the Dumaguete area to buy restaurant equipment? Anything from bread ovens, firebrick ovens, deep freezers, and many other restaurant supplies? Yan-Yan looks decent for some basic supplies but and a few small things but I haven't had much luck finding anyplace where to get some of the bigger equipment. I'd also be interested if anyone knows a reputable builder of firebrick ovens (solid wood fired brick ovens) or someplace to order larger restaurant equipment inside the Philippines. Thanks

Yan Yan for the basics and the pinoy bread ovens. La Germania ovens etc. come from Manila. I have had 4 woodfire/pizza ovens built in 5 years here. Any time someone has a Pinoy build it the result is a smoking failure. There is aa formula to having one built. Has to do with the oven chamber and the opening . A proper woodfire pizza oven costs P80,000 to build. PM me if you need more info and want to get hooked up with the only guy that knows how to make one...

    I don't know.
You know about pizza ovens, that seem very inexpensive for a wood or coal oven. Are there many pizza shops using wood fired ovens, I used bakers pride and Blodgett ovens, the y600 model. hat do you think a complete set up would cost? I really want to go to coal fired ovens. Also is it easy to get supplies, quality Italian products and top of the line pre shredded cheese, I used Grande cheese in the US. I think I have the pizza bug again. I make a CT style pizza, paper thin and burnt, won the best pizza in Palm Beach County and was open for less then a year a long time ago. Also the best wing in central PBC and was a 1/2 mile from Hooters. I am a while away I think, at the least 3 years.

There are only 3 places with woodfire ovens in Dumaguete as of now. No1 burns charcoal, all mango or gemilina. Forget what you used, bought or thought in the USA. It is non-applicable here. You need to use whats available, whats affordable and whats realistic to survive here. Come see me any time for a look at my oven, a coffee and some good free advice sir...
