I am creating this general thread as a repository for messages the Valencia PNP Chief sends pertaining to arrests. Though technically not Dumaguete, the crimes occur in surrounding areas -- and potentially occur in Dumaguete -- even though the suspect(s) reside(s) in Valencia. His messages provide an idea of what kind of crimes occur in the area -- that are unlikely to make the news. I find his messages interesting & informative -- hopefully you will too! P.S. I will upload the latest arrest message in the next section.......
Check out this latest arrest (attached)! It is a screen shot of what the PNP Chief in Valencia sent out. Seems pretty stupid to burglarize a restaurant for some fried intestine, a bottle of rum, and shampoo & conditioner sachets!

Hey, what else can you do at 4:30 AM in the morning after an attempted transfer of assets from one person to youself. Eat a little (my personal choice would not be fried intestines), consume a little liquid courage like Tanduary Rhum, use your new MyPhone to tell your friends of your new career choice, then do a good job of cleaning up your body and hair so you score with the local ladies who like people who steal for a living. Getting caught was never considered part of the early morning activities. Unfortunately they forgot to steal a hack saw so they may not have a future freedom to enjoy life of with their illegal gains, instead they are "detained in the local station". What are you going to be doing at 4:30 AM in the morning other than denying that you have been caught stealing red handed? Remember the Dauin Public Market was burnt down recently so it will not be easy to stay home in your own local neighbor and rob a restaurant. Of coarse you could be preparing for school so you could have an education cable of giving you a lifestyle that was not dependent on the local governmental housing program (Jail), but that would be way beyond you dreams, even if you were sleeping at 4:30 AM in the morning. Yeap you are right Wrye...
Suspect in Valencia arrested for discharging a firearm during the COMELEC gun ban. I believe this offense garners a 7-year prison sentence (per COMELEC rules). I suspect this guy may get more time than that because the bullet actually hit someone.
Dead body reported, and retrieved, in Valencia. Below are two messages from the Valencia PNP Chief. The first message pertains to the report of a dead body discovered in a river. The second message covers the retrieval of the cadaver. I suspect the reason a few days passed between the report of a dead body and the retrieval is because measures needed to be taken to ensure the initial report was not part of an ambush and a tactical plan needed to be developed for the retrieval. In many western countries the police might rush out to respond to a report of a dead body in the wilderness, but here there are so many ambushes of PNP that special care needs to be exercised. Note: These messages are screen shots of exactly when the Chief sent -- except I cut off the last line containing his cell phone number.
