:jawdrop: There is no press coverage as yet on this But on the radio news this morning it stated that the Mayor has been caught out and charges are being preferred by 3 Councilors and the City Audit Department in that,
He used City Humanitarian Fund cash to pay for Hospital Bills for passengers in his Personal vehicle that met an accident. At First he denied it but then changed the story to well they are my constituents and it was a Humanitarian Act. This is how It appeared from the news cast. As the day unfolds no doubt others may add if they listen to more reports. I will post the Press release when/if it comes through :shifty:
    Boy oh Boy!

And is is there every other day with his clan, elcheapo never buys me a beer, so i doubt if he would pay for his friends hospital bills.

Sounds like he might be chasing 'job vacancies' ads soon. Or am I being optimistic?

So if a new mayor for Dgte takes over, do you think we could finally get a Starbucks in town? I wonder who owns Bo's Coffee?

Might even get something done about the traffic congestion in town.

Yes a Starbucks and a Burger king would be nice and would also like to know who owns Bo's Coffee.

Starbucks offers mediocre coffee at an ridiculous prices IMO.

I think there is a enough franchised-big-business Americanized junk food in this city and country as it is. I think there should be a law that says that there can only be 1 fast food franchise restaurant to every 50 mom and pop restaurant. Big franchises only make the poor poorer, it kills small business and creates tons of health problems for the locals that they cannot afford to see a doctor about. Fast food is a poison worse than shabu.

Mr. Steve D. Benitez owns Bo's Coffee.

Not sure who has the two (or more?) franchises in Dumaguete.
    Franchisees | Bo's Coffee
(and to anyone wondering: no, foreigners cannot own franchises.....wanted to do that myself with the 7/11 franchise about 3 years ago. And to the local guy I asked to go in on it with me, I would just like to say....."Still think it wouldn't work?" :shifty:)
