A passenger jet has crashed in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don with at least 55 passengers and six crew on board, officials say.

The FlyDubai Boeing 738, coming from Dubai, missed the runway as it attempted to land at 03:50 local time (00:50 GMT) on Saturday.

It is not clear what caused the crash but poor visibility and high winds are being considered as a factor.

Unconfirmed reports say everyone on board was killed.

There were reports of a fire or an explosion on board.

Other flights have been diverted away from the airport.

About 100 rescue workers are at the site of the crash and the fire has been extinguished, media reports say. Dozens feared dead in Russia air crash - BBC News

They must have also been seriously off-course. Because why the **** would anyone want to go to Rostov-on-Don?

This is lazy reporting. EVERY crash is going to have an explosion on board. On impact. Let me guess, there were also reports of shouting "OH MY GOD, WE ARE GOING TO DIE!" on board also.

That is what I thought the Pilot for the plane may have been thinking before the crash. It is very common when Muslim (or other very religious person) is involved in a situation they feel they may have no/limited control over like a car crash or in this incident a plane crash to put their lives in God's/Allahs/Yeewah's hands and say 'Inshallah' or 'God's will' or something similar instead of trying everything they can to avoid the accident. Basically just giving themselves to their God thinking he/she will solve the problem for them instead of trying to do whatever they can themselves. It's happens more often than most people realize. That may be why it appeared the pilot didn't do anything to try to correct the flight before the crash. Or maybe it was major mechanical failure or suicide by plane... Who knows?

Note: This is just speculation on my part, but it does happen fairly often.

Every time life delivers an euphoric emotional experience someone seems get religion, whether Christain or Muslim on the spot. I can not count the number of times, ladies in my bedroom have gotten religion experiences, murmuring out loud"Oh my God"... I never hear the end of the prayer though. I even had one of those experiences myself at San Rival at Robinson, as I watched a young lady come down the elevator recently...:o o:. (try not to take life too seriously, we really have little control)
