Saw this on Dumaguete awareness on FB, seems a motorcyclist is accusing an unknown foreigner of a hit and run. Not entirely sure, googles translation wasn't too clean

Lucky he was using his cellphone at the time, otherwise the ghastly foreigner would have got away scot free.

I don't know that I would have posted this until more information came out. At this moment God and a few others may know what happened.

I thought about that, but then if someone had accused me publicly, I would want to know about it.

As for the cell phone use, my wife says the translation states that another person took the photo, not the alleged victim.

Any witnesses other than the "victim's" relatives? Why not go to the police instead of posting it to facebook?

Could be no license, registration, insurance and the person at fault in the accident may be questionable.

When I was driving a friends car I had a kid on a motorcycle run into the back of it so hard that I know that wheel had to be straightened and relaced at best. Wet road, not maintain a safe distance/ not paying attention and someone pulling out immediately in front of me from a gas station were contributing factors. I consider it likely that when the motorcycle got home there was a story about someone backing into them. Had to be, as they could not possibly have done something wrong. I have 5 more stories about the same if anyone wants to hear them. That was in the first 90 days. Only 2 hit my Toyota Tamaraw FX/FB when I bought it, I would have figured nobody would "want" to hit that. Nobody hit my jeep (M-35 Willys) because for d*mn sure nobody wanted to hit that.

I sometimes feel like all foreigners stick together and actually believe that other foreigners can do no wrong.

For me, I have seen a lot of foreigners who are horrible drivers. I have no trouble believing that a foreigner could be involved in a hit and run. None whatsoever.

Not saying it happened that way, but I'd sure keep an open mind to the possibility.

I believe in bad foreigner drivers. That guy from Dauin who recently supposedly swerved to miss an askal at 50kph and his car bounced off some trees and wound up in the air between two trees. Of course I believe him! Not. Maybe I'm prejudiced because it's on Facebook.

Well just for fun, lets ask a Filipino. :devilish::devilish: I'll ask my spouse and you ask yours: You see an accident with dead bodies scattered around and blood everywhere. Do you A: Take pictures and post on Facebook, B: Go to the police, C: Both of above, D: Neither of above.

Answer I got was. B, (surprised me really and I'm not sure if that is what she would really do) What answer did you get? Anyone else want to play?

EDIT: I am reminded of a time when this actually happened and I was with my ex (ex filipina GF in Cebu). She wanted to get up close and personal with the dead body and take pictures for Facebook but I would not condone that. We did not call the police as other spectators told her the police had already been called so in that case the answer would have been D, under threat of a big argument.

Good call not mugging for the camera with a dead body. This wasn't the ex that you were offering up in the other thread was it? The one you helped gain experience?
