Elderly Filipino Couple Barred from Flight to U.S. After Bullet Found in Luggage Posted on April 20, 2016 by Timothy Walker • 0 Comments Elderly Filipino Couple Barred from Flight to U.S. After Bullet Found in Luggage – www.philippineslifestyle.com (Photo courtesy of ABS-CBN) MANILA, Philippines – An elderly couple were banned from boarding their flight to Los Angeles, California after security at NAIA found live ammo in their luggage. Estaban and Salvacion Cortabista, aged 78 and 74 respectively, were barred from boarding Korean Air, flight KE 622 – as they passed through security at NAIA, a .38 caliber bullet was found in the carry on bag of Salvacion. The couple said they are surprised to find the ammunition in their bag and denied ownership of the live bullet. A report on the incident says the couple made it past the first scanner at NAIA, and not until they reached the second x-ray scanner did they get stopped by security personnel. The couple’s luggage was offloaded from their flight on Korean Air, leaving them blocked from boarding. Airport authorities say they will file the appropriate charges against the couple – however, a full investigation is to take place as to how the couple passed through the first security checkpoint. Netizens are saying that the bullet was planted and that the couple had not been stopped at the first security checkpoint due to the fact that someone planted the bullet inside the airport.
It is nice to see that Filipino scammers are not discriminatory . There is no discrimination involved when money is involved... the Philippines seems to be full of "equal opportunity scammers" although the young, foreigners missionary types and old Filipinos going for an emotional trip to see their family seem to carry the most armament in their luggage. The scammers will scam the foreigners and even scam their own grandparent types, if they can smell the money (any 70 + year old going to US must have money, and can easily be intimidated in most cases by officials). It is sad... but then remember... "It is more fun in the Philippines"..
When will these people learn to quit trying to smuggle a single bullet by the ever vigilant airport police?
Maybe Duterte will gather up all these bullets and use them on the lowlifes that are doing the scamming.
Elderly couple caught with bullet in bag at airport If (and that's a big "IF") this admission was recorded (and given the whole bullet scam history, it d*mn well should have been) and the story changed only because of family showed up and told the elderly couple to lie then I think the family should be charged with something as well.
With the scale of the numbers of passengers going through this airport, I bet there is a history of every crazy possible thing you could think of and then a lot more that you couldn't.
These people just aren't doing their jobs. The bullet is supposed to go in the bag checking in to the Philippines, not going out. Tell the people at the front desk that the bullet is for you in case you can't handle the bull**** in the Philippines. The bullet is for a quick way to end the suffering. That's why there is only one. Personally, I think cyanide capsules would be better.
