Perhaps if you would like to describe they type of resort you are looking for: ie - Beach, mountain, water focused, dive resort, day resort etc. There are a number of nice resort recreational areas in the general area and each varies in character and theme.

The amount of people you are willing to share you resort facilities with are important too. My Gf wants to go to Tejero Swim Park today, (Sunday - family day here) as she has never been there, but I know there will be hundreds plus teenagers there playing, running, shouting and playing "grabb a$$". All good fun, but not a quite peaceful the environment i enjoy, where as if we went to Zuits another small heavily themed swim park with extensive aviaries there would be less than 50 people there today.

A better description of the type of resort you want to visit could probably get you better short list of recommendations results. Good luck and enjoy them all if possible.

 

More of a beach resort We have 2 small children so something for the kids too & not too crowded

Here is one that I walk by every day. Looks nice and clean and on the beach. Very basic so I would expect them to be reasonably priced although I have never asked.

Note that transportation can be a problem (not many tricycles pass there) unless you rent a motorcycle.

 

One thing here is there are resorts that charge a day use fee. That charge is for the use of their amenities as if you are resort guest (staying in a suite or room). Mike's Beach resort in Dauin is very nice, (14 km south) (Mike's Beach Resort - Dumaguete). It is a dive resort, and most divers are gone during the day, leaving just the day visitors. It is located on the beach with a nice pool. I think the day fee may be 100 P. The food is excellent, some of the best Mexican style dishes in the area. Visiting a resort for a day during the week (not family day... Sunday) usually gives you peace and quiet as well a pretty exclusive use of the facilities. Another great family day resort if Bambulo, in Bacong,(8 Km south) (http://bambulo.com/)with a little larger set of pools and miniature golf also. The day fee is 80 p and include all the use of the pool and golf. Both of these day resort are what I would call international quality level, and clean. Both can probably be found on the internet. Two other resorts a little further out of Dumaguete are Fun-ta-sea in Pasay (120 Km, south) is an isolated resort on the beach, and Kookoo nest, (Kookoo's Nest — Home nest) is another simple resort, islsolated with a great beach that is almost totally private. This should give you a start. I am not trying to drive you away from you original destination, Melanias Garden Resort, I have just never been there and can not comment on it.

I concur with Dave & Imp Both Mikes Dive resort and Bambulo are very nice family type resorts. My family and I especially enjoy Bambulo Resort. They have large kiddie pool with fountain and also a large adult pool with a nice slide and a cave which has a hot tub under a waterfall. The Bambulo resort also has lots of covered areas to sit and eat or drink with friends/family and lots of foliage/native plants to help with the heat and ambiance. I was there today 4/24/16 and the place was packed as we had a area wide brownout for maintenance on power facilities all day 8am-5pm and it is Sunday locally which is a big family day here so many, many families there with the kiddies. A good time was had by all!

I agree Jack, that is why I reported it and didn't start a flame war. I may not agree with anything that someone says but I wouldn't stoop to altering their post except possibly for brevity then it's usually easier / less work to keep the whole paragraph.

 

Well it is hopefully sorted now, so please lets just all get along, The last thing we need on Threads that are in the main going well, is where we get to a stage they are closed and spoil it for Everyone
