I'm sorry to hear this happened to you Pat. I hope that you get your stuff back, the pictures are always the hardest things to replace.
I lost $20,000+++ when my Border robbed me blind when I came here to marry my Wife, couldn't do jack as he claimed "I gave it all to him so he could buy drugs while I was away" and the Police refused to charge him, he jimmied open my bedroom door, the spare room door where I kept all my old Diecast Toy Cars stock (10K+ worth) my store room door where he cleaned out all my tools, compressor etc, he stabbed my waterbed flooding my house and smashed all the doors off of cupboards, smashed windows etc, the Police questioned me as to why I would 'claim' he was to blame when he seemed so convincing for a heroin addict (which I never knew until finding all of the used needles when I got back home from here) Police aren't worth shyte here or abroad when it comes to getting any type of justice for the victim, it has been 3 years almost and I still dream of throttling the life out of the maggot if I ever ran across him again :/ Honestly, I don't think I will ever recover from that experience :/
Any thought it might be someone with 'inside' knowledge that you had items within reach of a window? Somewhat suspicious that they were willing to jump over your wall just hoping to find something within reach. I wonder like Jack did, are the police aware of a group of break-ins? If not, might be closer to home unfortunately.
My next door neighbor also had a recent home robbery. My laptop and myself could be seen at night if someone looked through the crack between the 2 gate doors. Wasn't an inside job. It appears my dog may have been given something to put him to sleep not long after we turned the lights off and heard him barking then came back later. We are aware of a doper c********r living not far behind us.
I didn't mean inside job, a worker or someone who had been around to see your layout so had inside knowledge. The peek-a-boo crack between the gates explains it though. Might be a good idea to install a flat piece of something on one of the gates to prevent 'them' from looking in.
He told the police that he used the money to buy drugs? What the f*ck? That's a load of sh*t from the police, heroin is basically non-existent in the Philippines (you won't find enough of that nasty stuff outside of Manila and Cebu for someone to become an addict). The only thing the syringes could be used for here is shooting up meth/shabu (or some prescription drug from the pharmacy)...and only the most hardcore of addicts would ever consider doing that. I suspect that someone in the police was in on your house's robbery and were telling some porky pies to get you to stop asking questions.
