Electronics & Appliances Above cabinet lighting

I have some T-5 fluorescent fixtures for above the kitchen cabinets but would prefer to go with strip LED lighting and thinking at putting in some below the cabinets as well. Has anyone seen these lights in Dumaguete?

When I fly in next month, the wife is going to meet me in Manila so we can hang out for a few days; so any recommendation on where to check in Manila for these lights would be appreciated.

Yep, Citi Hardware and Handyman has them. They work great for under cabinet lighting. Put in 7w over the stove and gave me all the light I needed, I did not put under the other cabinets. A 7w is about 28 " +/- and cost 328 P.

 

Specifically, you want to buy a LED fixture or just a long LED stripe? I think I had seen the LED lighting fixture inside Hypermarket, behind the cigarette counter, last time in DGT.

 

Shawn everything you always wanted is available locally. For lights I recommend Polaris. I have taught their lighting electrician how to modify existing ballast fluorescent fixtures to receive the new LED tubes which will produce brilliant light. They will even come to your house and do it for you if you desire. The 5000k color temperature produces white light.

I still use conventional fluorescent under counter lights that have individual switches. One small wattage under counter light makes a nice nightlight when you are wandering through.

Being short, I recommend that your lights be behind a small ledge, or putting a front cover over the lights. I didn't have a ledge to put mine behind, and they blinded me, but I loved having the extra lighting in the kitchen when cooking. If I were taller, it probably wouldn't have bothered me at all.
