Electronic alarms can prevent most burglaries. There are some at Matiao and Handyman. Often what they sell is more like an automatic doorbell that goes off when anyone walks within its range.
Surveillance cameras sure do help, too... we have 6 of the installed around the house now. If somebody does get over the wall, at least we can show the cops who it is.
one night a few years back 2 guys broke in my house but the motion sensor alarm went off by the time I got out of bed and ran to the front they were just going through my bushes. I fired a couple of shots and never had a problem since. its the only time filipinos talking to much probably helped me because it seems everybody heard about it
This was in Australia, I pleaded with the investigating Officer (Detective) to look into my background (NEVER been to Court NEVER been Arrested NEVER had a Police Record!) but she was convinced I was lying, he was very convincing, as was I when I took him in when he had nowhere to go, he was dating a mate's daughter and spun a yarn about how his father and brothers were drug addicts and he did not want anything to do with that lifestyle, SUCKER ME! :/ The two Police Officers who originally came out were great and read through him straight up, I wish they had handled the case instead of handing it over to the useless Detective who also stuffed up my Compensation Claim, instead of getting compensated for the amount stolen she requested $1,000.00 AUD and I was awarded that ion the Court but she stuffed up the paperwork and it got lost in the system so I got screwed again, life story, the original "Bad Luck Brian"... Then when moving here half of my remaining goodies never arrived, the kid reckoned my Balikbayan Box was teamed open enroute and pilfered of the items he wanted before I left, talk about starting a new life from scratch o.O
I now have 3 dogs, CCTV cameras, extra steel welded to all the grills, two sensor lights replaced with all night LED lights, and chopped down the tree they climbed up to comeover the 7 foot wall with barb wire, and several bolo knives. After the fact, but maybe this will help others.
