What is the word on car rentals in Dumaguete? Private/Commercial/Et Al.

My wife heard there was an agency offering long term rentals with insurance?

    Word?

I used Safe Ride Car Rentals to avail myself of a Toyota Vios (AT) for a week earlier this year. Cost was 2,300p a day, so not for the faint hearted. Everything in the vehicle worked though!

Last week I rented a vehicle from Ken's Auto Trading. At first they quoted me 2,500p a day for an old Toyota Vios. I mentioned that the price was a bit 'much' and they immediately dropped it to 1,500p a day. Got over there and nobody had the slightest notion that I'd communicated with anyone via text message (got the number from their website). Started over again with the friendly folks there and they offered me an old Pajero for 1,500p a day. I said I'd be happy to try that. Unfortunately it was not fully functional and within an hour, I returned the SUV to them and asked for something that had functional air conditioning, windows, brakes and steering. They then happily provided me an old Isuzu SUV that had semi-functional air conditioning. Brakes and steering were within acceptable limits for an older vehicle. Air conditioning never got cold enough to require adjusting away from full blast. After a week though, it was very useful.

I do not know if they would have lowered the price more, but after immediately agreeing to the 1,500p, I suspect they'd go a lot lower.

Edit: I noticed a homemade jeep out front of Casablanca advertising rental vehicles. A mobile number and website were listed on the side of the vehicle. Tried texting them to no avail. Checked the website and it was non-functional.
