DUMAGUETE CITY, August 17 (PIA)—Statistics from the Negros Oriental Provincial Health Office revealed that cases of teenage pregnacy (19 years old and below) continues to rise in Negros Oriental. Population Commission (PopCom) Negros Island Region (NIR) regional director Darlynn Remolino bared in a Kapihan sa PIA recently that teenage pregnancy in Negros Oriental recorded 4,103 cases in 2014 and 4,895 in 2015. For the first quarter of 2016, DOH recorded another 889 pregnancies This according to Remolino is a serious concern because the trend is not only in Negros Oriental but all over the country. The topic “Family Planning and Breastfeeding Keys to Sustainable Development” was discussed during the Kapihan. In addressing the problem, Remolino bared that PopCom established the Learning Package for Education Development (LPED) where parents and children discuss topics on responsible parenthood, adolescent and sexuality issues facilitated by trained staff from DOH and PopCom. The title of the article is: Cases of teenage pregnancy continue to rise but the number facts may not support the title for the first quarter. Interestingly if you multiply the 889 pregnancies in the first quarter by four you come up with 3556 pregnancies, a lower number of than in 2014 (4,103) and 2015 (4,895). Now since I know we are all intelligent the members, the question is do more pregnancies start in the first quarter than the second, third and fourth quarters? Any thoughts? I have no point of reference in my house other than my cats, and they have a batch of kittens on an almost continuous program. By the way anyone want some kittens? I have assorted colors and ages, and their are cheaper ( but not as tasty I have been told) as Alex's rabbits... Freeeeeeeeeeeee !!! If you prefer rabbit looking creatures I will paste on longer ears for you. (PM me for cats) alex
Are they also figuring in population increases as well especially in the cities where statistics are a bit more accurate? What I see as a major failure of the country is not having a proper sex ed class along with not having available in high schools and colleges a mandatory condom and cheap birth control available that should be available with no names needed to any student (well only females can get the pills). Of course I'd have to laugh at colleges like St. Paul which actually kicks out pregnant female students when the government would force them to make such things available.
All very well blaming the church but do you not think Parents and Teachers should shoulder some of the Blame and the Blame of course is with the kids themselves, They all I am sure have friends who have been caught out. OH! how did that happen? Bet they would not get burned by a match twice. People are just not learning from others mistakes, you know, it won't happen to me. Is their a world wide chart of teenage pregnancies? It would be interesting to see where the PI lay in the list
Well, when one has a religion based on adultery, what should one expect really, free Plasma TV's or new cell phones with each incidence of unprotected sex?!
