Foreigners are Destroying the Philippines: Duterte (image by Associated Press)

MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte said on Monday that foreigners are destroying the Philippines.

The President did not name which nationalities are causing the so called ‘destruction’ – saying in his speech that he has “warned their ambassadors several times.”

“A lot of citizens are destroying my country and I won’t allow that. If I allow it, there will be no Philippines tomorrow,” he said.

The rough and outspoken President was careful with his words, he originally pointed fingers at Chinese citizens are contributing to the massive drug issues that are plaguing the country.

Duterte finally admitted that Mexican drug cartels are actively operating throughout the Philippines – something he has bypassed speaking about before.

Palace officials say that the crime rate is already lower due to the intensified campaigns against illegal drugs – however, no solid statistics were presented with that statement.

Critics say that due justice is not part of the campaign against drugs in the country – this week 72 police officers in Northern Manila were let go all based on the idea that they deserved due justice through proper channels – however, those being killed on the streets of the Philippines are not given any justice, giving lead way to critics from the United Nations to International news organizations condemning the President’s actions.

You can't formulate hard numbers in a matter of a few months. In the US if you ask the FBI what the numbers are they can only give you the numbers for a year ago or possibly two years ago. I would hope that the FBI in the US was slightly more organized than the Philippines. The AP is asking for the world on this one. If the numbers can be instantly provided, why does not the AP gather all the information and provide them? Just biased reporting.

I agree, "It had to happen" there had to be more biased reporting.

I get no sense that Duterte is blaming the run of the mill expats as a few have claimed would happen.
