Recently I have been noticing that in all the pictures I see of dead drug dealers they all are barefooted. I was under the impression that drug dealers were wealthy. At least the ones I see on TV are. Gold, Diamonds, Sexy Women, Jet Planes, Luxury Yachts.... and at least a dozen pairs of AIR JORDAN's. Has anyone seen dead drug dealers wearing shoes or is this just another war on the poor? Please.. SHOW ME THE SHOES...
Maybe it's a matter of "he doesn't need them any more". In my opinion shoes, even poor quality shoes are generally expensive in the Philippines. I'm going to bring 6 pair of decent quality canvas deck shoes when I come back. Canvas breathes, is almost as cool as slippers/flip flops, I can run in them if I need to cross the street, I can wear them while swimming in the ocean so I don't have to worry about stepping on glass, metal or sea urchins and I can toss them in the washing machine to clean them. I'm wearing a pair right now, Ralph Lauren Polo brand and of decent quality that I bought for $25 US and they are comfy!
This is the Philippines, not Miami Beach. They were most likely wearing slippers (flip-flops) which easily fall off or taken off. I probably wear shoes less than once a month.
Business went bad after Duterte so the drug dealers sold their shoes to feed their kids maybe? Or maybe they just ate the shoes with some vinegar? But more then likely they were wearing slippers which could have fallen off or easily nabbed.
The two young men in motorbike who held me at gun point, took my purse and phone were wearing shoes and can even afford a good haircut! I wonder if the gun was real but I couldn't take my chances by running or screaming for help.
Where and when was that? Affording a good haircut isn't that difficult, I get mine for p40, with tip it is p50.
They certainly didn't look like the ones gunned down in print. They know where I live so I can't post the details here.
Strange but true, the guy I saw shot last week on the bacong to Valencia road also had no slippers or shoes. Maybe they just need the slippers. Not a nice sight first thing in the morn before breakfast As we all know life is cheap in this country!
I watched a video where Bud Brown gave a kid a pair of slippers and the next time Bud saw the kid the slippers were gone, supposedly stolen while the kid slept. I think it possible the kid sold the slippers to look less well off because if he is a beggar who sleeps on the street, he would probably know to get a piece of cardboard to sleep on and place the slippers under the cardboard. Not to take away from what Bud did, sometimes an act of kindness just doesn't stick.
