After the latest typhoon (Lawin) there are reportedly no foreign donations coming into PI..! Fancy that. Due to DU30's anti-Western attitude and of course the way Yolanda donations were pilfered and abused. I wonder if the Filipino military was offering quicker disaster relief and structure this time than they did after Yolanda. - Anderson Cooper's report back then five days after the storm really exposed things for what they are here. Tacloban's mayor was in the Marcos family tree; I think he was a nephew of Pres Marcos-so he wasn't getting the federal aid he should after Yolanda from then President Aquino...
Nothing at all to do with Du30.............Philippines has been blacklisted of sorts, as it doesnt have to furnish or show how it spent what money it was given, most of the foreign aid is lying in Banks waiting for its day in the sunshine how they can pilfer and plunder from the mouths of desperate people ( there own kip and kin) is beyond me, how countries can give it without asking where its actually being spent is just as bad, half of what is said was given is never given in the first place
There is an American aid organization still working in Tacloban building schools. They learned that unless they came here and spent the money themselves it would never get done. They are 100% funded by American donations and give the 2o room schools to the locals when they are finished. The schools are super typhoon and flood proof so the LGU's are designating them as typhoon shelters. They come fully furnished and stocked with school supplies.
Most private organized aid reached their destinations while the donation to big organisations was sunk into dubious channels and incapable goverments. I saw this happening at the disaster of Yolanda or at the debacle at Cagayan de Oro.
The news reported that aid got to where it was needed and without corruption. They said it didn't cost too much. I'm guessing the politicians are afraid to put their fingers in the cookie jar.
Do you know the difference between a tick and a politician? One is a disease spreading bloodsucker and the other is only half an inch tall.
