From Princeton's post it sounds like they are just going through the motions - sort of. I once asked the guard that pokes his stick in purses what he was looking for in my wife's purse. He had no answer.
I bet if he found a firearm or a pound of shabu in the purse he would know exactly what he is looking for and exactly what to do about it. Same for vehicles: if they saw a bunch of wires in a place wires shouldn't be or something duct taped to the bottom of a vehicle they would have a reaction and know, at the very least, to run away and call and tell someone in charge. They aren't complete idiots. Even if they haven't been trained on what to look for they will more than likely be able to catch some of the most obvious stuff. I'd also be willing to bet most people looking to bomb a high traffic area would have just as high of training at making and placing bombs as the guards are for looking for them.
"I bet if he found a firearm or a pound of shabu in the purse he would know exactly what he is looking for and exactly what to do about it." Yeah they are on top of their game. After a trip to the Sibulan shooting range I stopped by the airport to visit the ATM. The guard stopped us at the gate, looked in my van missing the AR16 on the floor and Glock 17 laying on the seat, smiled and waved us through
I didn't claim they were at the top of their game. I just stated that they would catch the blatantly obvious. When did they get an ATM at the airport?
It's been there quite awhile. Or at least it was last I was there. It's to the right of the ticket windows ... BPI
Shouldn't this be in the "Funny Stuff"? This is the stuff that makes me want to live here. If you don't laughs at this sh*t you going to go crazy or move back to where you came from.
...or go work for awhile in an even more f*cked up country like Afghanistan. I'm actually getting a bit spoiled here by the much faster internet though.
Like almost all security screenings, it's a show. Someone from "on high" decided that security was lax and something needed to be done, so something is being done. It's not effective, but something is being done. Now everyone is happy except all those stuck in traffic.
You've been able to go directly left to motorcycle parking for a number of months now. Both escalators inside Robs dept store are working btw
