Does anyone know the up to date internet provider choices in Bacong proper? I know there is Globe with download limits *gag at globe and download limits*, and SmartBro along with still no PLDT landline. Anyone know of any of any other half decent provider? Fil Products has been moving around but unsure if they have broadband in Bacong yet or if Skycable is there (think Sky was thou). Hoping to find something that is fairly decent for download and possibly even streaming. Any suggestions? Thanks
Globe, Smart and PLDT all have data caps on their wireless options. I think that PLDT has the best data cap policy (as if there is such a thing as the "best data cap policy" ) as theirs resets daily. Then again, they very well could have a monthly data cap on top of the daily caps and the sales person just didn't know their own company's policy when I specifically asked about "monthly" data limits (and I did ask several times...very slowly and with very strong emphasis on the word "monthly").
Alright thanks, will check on SmartBro as PLDT said they have nothing in Bacong proper. But I'm not to sure on their wireless for my needs as wireless is fairly weak here from what I see. But Globe I hate but they also seem so hard on early terminations if don't do 2 years along with very weak on data caps as 30-50gb is NOTHING in today's world in a month. I could do 30gb in a weak downloading one purchased game online.
The options suck but that's how the internet goes in the Philippines and even more so in Bacong. There are many places in Bacong that you can't even get a cell phone signal.
Hi! May I ask what you finally went with? We bought a smart and globe pocket wifi and neither of them work. We have a spotty connection at best, and most of them time, nothing. We learned that Globe's DSL would reach our house, but since we're only renting for 4-5 months, the landlord won't sign a two year contract, understandably so. Did you find any options? We live more in Banilad - Martisan Beach area. We work from home and these days, we can't even Skype with our families abroad... :-(
I ended up getting a business line with Globe because I had a little restaurant in Bacong. Closed up my mini restaurant because of lack of customers and even ended up moving to Daro and was able to transfer the line to my residence knowing its not a business. After all contract is 2 ways and if they wouldn't transfer it then they pretty much terminated the contract and I'd make sure NTC tells them they can't hold it against me (NTC has backed me up a few times before but never can remember the guy at NTCs name). What I found though was only Globe had DSL when I signed up a year ago and PLDT just had wireless box's and I didn't care to deal with signals from their antenna. However I've had friends with Globe dsl residential in Bacong and they sometimes complained hard while my business line ran a lot better. So it does look like business lines get preferential treatment to an extent.
Here is San Miguel (3 klm from Bacong proper) we have Globe antenna 10 mbps, can have PLDT too. Best internet I have ever had and I have lived in over 7 places around Dumaguete.
