The following may give you an idea what amount is involved. A 2nd hand tricycle with sidecar and franchise is nowadays around 100.000,00 peso. One 2nd hand isn't the other 2nd hand of course, depending on conditions, mileage and so on, and most important, everything 2nd hand is negotiable. It's just a roughly estimate in case U R thinking it will only cost a few bucks. Other members may give more accurate info.

Multicab franchises are few and far between, no new routes are being created, and old ones are worth more than a multicab, even if not profitable.

Last year someone told me that the franchise off tricycles could be 80k plus.
Because there are no new licences given by the municipal.
But, so is the same with multicaps.
Than it will take to long to make a profit.

according to my gf, who owns a dauin multicab franchise, the word on the street for the vehicle and franchise is:

    bacong multicab /p250,000 to 300,000
yearly LTO fees: 7,000 including insurance
renew franchise in cebu every 5 years for 15,000

    dauin multicab / 180,000 to 250,000
currently, there are 2 dauin franchises for sale

duma city 4 digit tricycle franchise / 300,000 to 350,000

a new honda powered tricycle runs about 300,000

    hope i got that right : )
    norm : ))~

Well, at least part of that I know is incorrect. A new Honda TMX runs P70,000, and a new sidecard runs P20-P30 thousand for a nice one.

Yes definitely, I agree with RR_biker's post that the amount of 2nd hand tricycle with sidecar and franchise is more that 100.000,00 peso now a days. But not sure about the exact price and it is just an idea.

If the trike franchising prices were easily found online transportation officials would not be able to bump the prices up to collect their bribe money. I'm almost certain that these costs are left up to each individual city to determine (and Dumaguete ordinances are basically non-existent online). These likely change with each election cycle if not yearly or even monthly. On top of that they often ban and un-ban new franchises from being purchased as the need for more trikes rises and falls. (which I am almost certain correlates directly to government officials desire to up their standard of living)

    ....later in the article:
Yeah, absolutely no conflict of interest there. I'm certain his concerns are truly with the "riding public", it couldn't possibly have anything to do with those new franchise operators needing to purchase insurance. :meh:

Are you thinking of buying/building a trike to make some extra money? If so, have you looked at home much a trike actually pulls in per day?

.....and apologies for not answering your question. I couldn't find an official source online that had in the information you were looking for.
