What costs the NBI clearance if directly done at the NBI? 45000 PHP sound quite far too much for a such document. That is around US$ 900.

NBI clearance by itself is either p115 or p415 depending on what you need it for (what I read on the website wasn't clear about which one for a 13A). The p45,000 was for cost of 13A + cost of having someone do the paperwork for him.

Thx for clarification. Is the 45k for the application and for the permanence visa together? Or is it only for the application.

on average how many trips from Dumaguete to Cebu would be involved in 13A visa application process........??

And is Manila still the only place to get the NBI clearance from....??

Sorry not having Internet on at home meant Internet Cafes once a month when we went to the City to pay our Bills and Shop but I now have Internet on at home here so maybe can help with replies now...

Using the Agency next to Immigration here in Dumaguete we went to Cebu twice, once to lodge the application for the Probationary Visa and the second time to gain the approval which I just received this month.

They use their Agent in Cebu to do the extra lodging you would otherwise do yourself meaning the 4 to 5 trips to Cebu if doing it that way. The Forms changed several times during my application which I would not have known about if not for using an Agent, which would no doubt have meant more trips to Cebu to rectify the problem so I am thankful I used an Agent, but I know many prefer to do things themselves, that would have created more problems than I would have been able to sanely deal with...

I highly recommend using a qualified Agent as I read from the Web Site and went ahead and gained all of the medical tests including an X-Ray as requested but the Agent told me "No need" and it turned out they were correct, I was not asked for a single medical test result so money wasted for following the Government Web Page. :/

All up paying the Agent including both trips to Cebu with Hotel stay, Flight costs using Cebu Pacific etc totaled up under 70,000 pesos, that was for my Wife and I only on the first trip and on the return trip to gain approval for Permanent Residency and ACR renewal we took our daughter with us so 3x of us traveled on the second trip.

I spoke with a couple of guys on the second trip back who were having problems lodging forms and after talking said they would look at using an Agent also like I did. I suppose some have the patience to do it themselves but for me using the Agent who told us what we needed to obtain (like NBi Clearance etc) and who headed off potential disaster when the Forms changed, made it so much easier (for me) to complete the process...
