    Got to update my boy's passport. Any hotel recommendation with a pool close to the US consulate or else close to the SM Seaside? Can't afford Marriot type rates. Thanks

    Check airbnb.com if you want more like an apartment.

    Waterfront = $60/night
    Radisson Blu = $95/night
    Best Western Plus Lex = $50/night

    Haven't had a bad experience in any of those.

    we just had a week at the san remo which is 5 minutes driving from the SM mall via airbnb.com . and that has 3 swimming pool and can be had for 1200 pesos depending on your needs

    the only drama (depending on the length of your stay) is using uber, AS NO TAXIS PLY THEIR TRADE THEIR YET, so its uber or grab as for taxis, but again its only 5 minutes drive from the mall

    Elegant Circle Inn on Fuente's Circle is about $28 usd a night. You can pay for many taxi rides at that price. i was alway happy staying there but never looked for anything really fancy. It was recommended by my first landlord. They are doing some renovations there now, but Bill with the four unit apartments in Bacongfor rent (see classified section here) recently stayed there in the last three weeks, you may want to ask him about the conditions and situation there currently. Make reservation to insure you get a room.

    We stayed at the Grand Apartelle Hotel in Mandaue, Cebu the first time we went over to do my 13a Visa, they have a small Pool but kids need to be accompanied by an Adult and ALL MUST wear a Swim Suit to enter the Pool area, very clean, nice and quiet, comfortable with Cable TV, Aircon. and good working Wifi, a small Refrigerator in the room and a Kettle to boil water and make Coffee/Tea, we liked it and tried to Book there again when we went back the second time but there were no vacancies, so the travel Agent instead booked us into the Mandaue Hotel... NICE! :thumbsup:

    But no Pool. It is very secluded and very quiet, the most convenient part was they serve Food 6.30am to 8.30pm where you simply pick up the phone and order at the front Desk, it is then delivered to your room in a short time. I thought this was much better than our first stay, as we did not need to pass on all of the left over food to the Staff, the food on offer was very fairly priced and good quality! They also serve cold drinks, alcohol, treats etc... We paid for the supreme room with Wifi in the room (standard rooms you need to use the Wifi in the Office) but the Wifi in the room was terrible! The Wifi was my ONLY complaint about our stay there, everything else was spot on! (I did complain on their Facebook page about the Wifi when I left feedback, and they said they would have it fixed the next time we come back, we shall see :o o: hehe) We do plan to stay there again the next time we go to Cebu as it is only a few minutes drive from the BOI in the J-Center Mall and around 15 minutes drive from the Cebu Air Terminal. 9/10

    I didn't stay there for the longest time because the looks of the place made me think that it was ridiculously expensive. I think $60/night is a pretty good deal considering everything on the property and it's central location. (Though now I would only stay there if I had something to do in Immigration/Consulate as the main reason I go to Cebu is to drink at Mango Ave. and I like to be able to stumble a short distance to get back to a hotel. :wink:)
