Oh so true, unfortunate to say, that many a Military Officer can thank their continued career on this Statement. and many more Government Officers.
9 months after buying my motorcycle I finally got the papers I need to get a plate made. Yes, they suggest I get a'temporary plate' made with white background and black letters/numbers. The RUSI representive told me that the LTO cannot even make a guess as to when the actual plates will be available so I got a piece of paper that authorizes the use of a home made temporary plate with the plate number they provide. I actually wondered when they would get around to telling me this. Its the obvious solution and looking at some of the random plates in use I guess it has already been going on for a while now.
Yes, I have same problem. Although I got all my LTO paperwork within 2 months no plate is forthcoming in the foreseeable future. I also renewed my drivers license and plates on my car back in July last year and have yet to receive anything other than paper stamped no license and no plate available. I won't lose any sleep over it. I have all the docs if they are too incompetent or stole all the money so they cannot provide basic simple plates and licenses it's their problem not mine. I also keep Xerox of same on me at all times as I will never release the original paperwork to anyone here for any reason even the LTO because you may never ever see it again.
Keep telling people to stop worrying about it. Just consider what you pay for the plate a normal registration fee and forget about it. Just carry the registration papers and you will be good to go. The PNP/LTO officers know how screwed up the system is and won't impound a vehicle that does not have plates so long as everything was paid for and current.
Don't know if there is a more current thread on this, but a friend today wanted to buy a new car and was told that once it arrives he has to keep it on his property for about 60 days until the LTO can process the paperwork. A new car sitting around unused for 2 months??? He then viewed a used car and found that the car, almost one year old, still does not have plates. I thought this all seemed very odd until I read the above comments.
Don't worry about it. Keep your registration on hand and forget about the plates. Spray-paint the plate number on a piece of cardboard and duct tape it on the back of the car if it makes you feel better. Won't make a d*mn but of difference though. Registration/OR CR is all you need.
Highly unlikely. Even with our current, beloved President's efforts to cut down on graft and corruption, by integrating the two, officials in National, Regional and Local government would stand to lose too much money on the 'personal finance' side.
TMO is an Administered office of the City but is is ultimately the Responsibility of the LTO on Laws and Regulations ( paperwork) concerning vehicles. LTO are responsible for all vehicular issues, TMO has other duties to perform in line with mainstream Traffic & parking regulations ie; controlling? Funeral courtages and such, their job if done correctly, is to keep Traffic Moving. Source; my nephew who is employed full time by Dumaguete City Council at TMO. BTW it may surprise some that they are also reporters of the Smoking Ban infringements in the city. I have at least twice seen them cite someone ( foreigner of course) while his Partner stood behind Smoking But..............
