    Discovered a new food source, even fresh cilantro, frozen meat, sauerkraut, some other stuff. Try the Negros Organic, across the hall from the Bureau of Immigration, on Locsin, benefit for the deaf, which includes the woman who runs it...

    Another fun fact is that cilantro is call "wansoy" here. If you were like me and assumed that cilantro simply didn't exist here, it's possible that you weren't looking for the correct label. You can often find wansoy in Robinson's, but Naturally Negros is another good source from what I have heard (I have never been there myself).

    Naturally Negros has a shop in Zamboanguita, too, and you can always go up to their farm (call first), about 4km above Zambo... By the way, I call it coriander. And, the Philippine coriander looks quite different from what I'm used to. Same good taste and smell, though.

    I always thought corinader and cilantro were different-your post prompted me to ask "uncle google" and here is what he said-
    After the plant flowers and develops seeds, it is referred to as coriander. Cilantro (sih-LAHN-troh)is the Spanish word for coriander leaves. It is also sometimes called Chinese or Mexican parsley. Technically, coriander refers to the entire plant.

    Coriander would be another name I haven't seen in the stores here. :wink:

    We use the local corriander also and has a great taste,you just need to chop the flat leaves up fine,great stuff for curries.
    In valencia plaze danny dorong sells the stuff we are used to back home and also seen a few times in the veg market on sundays in valencia,its hard to grow here.

    we grow wansoy. our 1st planting was from seeds from JB markting and it grew it did well and seeded out but we haven't had a good wansoy crop since tho there's plenty to ad to my daily green salad. i'll hafta try it in a curry.

    the folks in panamá have a yard weed they call culantro that tastes like cilantro. funny to see perfectly manicured lawns with culantro plants standing in it
