Yes but isn't this the problem, knowing where and when it starts, I have a nephew who for many years was totally against Drugs, YET when in college he turned Totally and ended up in a very sorry state, he had very good Parents and Money never seemed to be a problem but it happened, If we, as responsible people Knew how to deal with it it may not be the problem it is but again, we don't and that is really sad but a fact of Life in any Country. I am not really sure that Poverty can be blamed totally on this issue as I know many Well off people that do hard drugs through Stress, Could this be something to look at as Employers maybe :hmmm:

Sure, wealthy people can be drug users to. It's not easy to find "the way" to help people out of drug addiction. There can be many reasons to start use drugs, just for fun and just want to try it, together with wrong environment. Success rate is so small, my reason to quiet job as social worker with this clientele. Drugs kill your feelings, you do not care about anything else, than how to get more drugs

I think one misconception that people have is that every person who uses drugs turns into an addict. That simply isn't the case. The average addiction rate for drugs is around 20% (some are less some - such as Weed/LSD/Ecstasy/Shrooms - and some are more - Cocaine/Heroine) if I remember correctly. There are far more people who use drugs - such as alcohol/weed/ecstasy - responsibly than there are addicts. Imagine if we just threw every alcoholic in jail for simply being an alcoholic - aka a drug addict (which would be a horrible idea because they could die from the physical withdrawal symptoms).

People tend to forget that they themselves are likely drug users. It just so happens that your drug of choice is legal....and it isn't that way because it is the least harmful drug available. Alcohol is far more damaging to the body and society than weed could ever be. So if you sit down in the afternoon and have a few beers, well congratulations, you are a responsible recreational drug user. And this is how the majority of other "heavy" drugs are used as well.

The large majority of addicts also suffer from some form mental illness (aside from the addictions). You can't talk sense into people who are addicts and mentally ill...well you can, but that sense won't stick around for long. It isn't the drugs that cause this, it is the addiction and mental illness. The drug is irrelevant, if it isn't one drug it would be another one that they would be addicted to. Some people are just prone to addiction because of preexisting conditions. Locking them up for it does absolutely no good and solves nothing.

    Edit:
"Drugs kill your feelings, you do not care about anything else, than how to get more drugs"
    That is complete nonsense.

I would have to agree with legalizing abortion for special cases only - like if it's an act to save the mother's life.

Medical/ Rape-Incest or young child not wishing to suffer the ordeal/ proven severely disabled baby with no hope of a future, or if the Mother is severely intellectually disabled amongst others... IF a woman wants an abortion simply because she is too stupid to keep her knees together and take suitable precautions then tough shyte... Yes; still many grey areas here, but give credence to common sense... Back home, my city is well known for the high number of very low IQ peoples breeding prolifically purely because they know no better and are paid handsome welfare payments, doing nothing more than contributing to overall tax payer debt to support them and the multitude of Rats they produce...
