Emergency Help request (Child with Leukemia)

A note in advance: This is approved by the forum admins and Jack Peterson did even visited the poor girl.

Got a request for help yesterday to assist Patrice Jhannea Lyn Beronia which have Leukemia and is in the ICU of the Silliman Medical Center in Dumaguete.

The issue looks genuine to me.

The bill is too high for the family to shoulder the cost. (See the bill in the links above). The mother is Madelyn Beronia and can be contacted on 09262100051. Her sick child can be visited in room 433 on fourth floor. (Ask for children ICU because Silliman hospital have two ICUs)

According to some more infos I got, was a smaller part of the bill be paid by PhilHealth and by the goverment (PCSO) of Guihulnan City. But there are still more than 150k PHP needed to be getting paid.

You can visit the child in the hospital and you can contact her mom for further questions.

You could try gofundme or a site of that type. I think it has been done in the past for other people in a challenging situation.

 

It is very effective, I have seen some asking for help for very trivial matters which I am sure they themselves could deal with, something like this would be a worthwhile request IMHO...

 

Have to tell you all that Patrice passed away today or yesterday due her illness.
And another sad thing is that nearly no NGO did even provided any help.
Only few private persons incl. myself had given some (financial) assistance.
Her family have still to shoulder a huge dept from the treatment.

 

Very sad Doc but that is the way it is here, I think we would all do more if we could But & there is always a but Too many ill just not enough cash to go around, you did what you could and I commend you I for my Part communicated what I thought was a good way to go to the family but as you say too little too late
