If you think the Traffic Management Office of Dumaguete City is quite lax on violators of rules embodied in local ordinances to restore order in the streets, these figures may prove you wrong.

TMO Head of Office Gilbert E. Ablong Sr. reports that in the first 12 months under the administration of Mayor Felipe Antonio “Ipe” Remollo (July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017) some 13, 219 drivers have been apprehended for various offenses such as refusal to convey passengers, illegal parking, driving without tail lights, driving without side mirrors, wearing slippers, driving without license or registration, among others.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Highway Patrol Group headed by Sr. Insp. Robelito Mariano shared that 57 suspected carnappers were arrested in the past 12 months, 53 cases were filed and 8 were convicted.

Both the TMO and PHPG also impounded a total of 497 vehicles (TMO-288, PHPG-209) for serious offenses that merit the issuance of Motor Vehicle Impounding Receipts and TOPs, respectively.

Fifty-eight (58) motorcycles and vehicles were recovered by Mariano’s unit but 110 units were reported stolen in the same period (July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017).

"refusal to convey passengers", does that mean they are busting trike drivers?

But you can speed down the road with no headlight on at night. Much more dangerous than slippers or loud mufflers etc

You can also go into the opposite lane any time you want - forcing someone to move out of your way
