    Well....after switching to Paypal as payment on my new ebay acct, I was able to compete part of the order! Now ebay says it can't load my cart for me to complete the rest-I'll wait a day and try again

    Thanks everyone

    I have been going through a similar thing; I have an Australian eBay Account & had an Australian PayPal Account, moved here (Phils) and after contacting both eBay & PayPal to notify them of my move, I was told I needed to ditch the Australian PayPal and open a Philippines PayPal Account. (due to not being able to access my Australian Bank Account to upload money, otherwise I would have tried leaving it the way it was)

    I did that with some difficulty only to discover that PayPal will not allow you to add funds via your Bank Account (Uploading) here in the Philippines as I did back in Australia. Now I need to open a Bank Account specifically to link a Debit Card (VISA) to so I can upload (I presume) from my VISA Card to my PayPal Account to have available Funds to buy via eBay. Beats me why eBay/PayPal treat the Philippines differently and make it more difficult to upload Funds to be able to use them here.

    I can understand the whole 'Fraud thing' but I feel you should be simply able to contact eBay/PayPal and alert them you have relocated to another country and simply keep your existing Accounts with them to make life a tad more simple... IF I need to also change my eBay Account then I will lose my 100% User Rating and will need to start all over again which will be a PITA after so many years of getting to where I am/was!

    Also in regards to the topic heading;
    IF you can buy from China/ UK/ Europe etc it will save you a fortune on Shipping when compared to buying from America. I do not know WHY it is, but you can buy an item from China (for far less for the SAME item) you most times get FREE Postage, where-as from America you pay a much higher price (for the same Made in China item) then get royally screwed with the Postage! I try and buy from ANYWHERE other than America due to the rip-off Postage Fees charged. Unless it is very specific (US ONLY) then shop around and save yourself a small fortune!

    *EDIT:
    I learnt this from buying Computer Parts on eBay, there are many "Little China" Shops posing as Australian based Companies, who are connected to their Chinese counterparts in China, who charge you Postage and a higher price for an item they have, compared to their partners in China who offer the Free Postage and slightly lower prices... Also (amazingly) I discovered often the delivery time was the same regardless which Company you dealt with when dealing with these Chinese companies... When buying from China, ALWAYS read the Feedback BEFORE Buying to make sure an item is not faulty! If it is there will be loads of complaints, makes it easier to avoid that item and getting stung also.

    It's law now in Australia. If anyone orders anything over $1000, it involves an Australian gov tax.

    I don't know if its a law in Canada or England. I am from those places but I don't live there now so don't give a d*mn, and I doubt anyone else on this forum cares either, hint hint.

    My Shipping Box only ships "new"items for some reason. I was going to use them but it seems I won't be able to.

    Anyone else know of a reliable air shipper?

    I also found the same using Australia Post when sending two bags of clothes here to the Philippines, I had to show the receipts for proof of purchase and they checked each item to ensure I was not sending 'used' clothes... Not sure why either?

    I've been using Manila Forwarders for a while and had no problems. You order the items and drop ship to them in CA just outside LA and then they forward from there to wherever you are. They do air, bb, containers, whatever method or size you want. Items can be used, new, dilapidated, second hand, ugly or pretty, just not alive and mostly odor free. Seriously, they have a good web site with the details just google Manila Forwarders, so far my experience has been good.
