I am looking for a place that builds custom Desktop (not laptop) - PC'S. Does anyone know of a reputable place and can recommend a place to go have a custom build done on a higher end machine?

    Thanks

Algorithm Computers located on the north highway about 200 meters north of Cangs, same side of the road. I get most of my computer stuff there and they are very good.

We had one built as we waited, at Technomart in Robinson’s. We built a tower with 7th gen i5 (best I could find, no i7) but this fast 3.8 GHz i5 will do the job. We used 8 Gb RAM (normal here is 4 Gb).
We added a 2 Tb hardfile 7200rpm partitioned into two 1 Tb disks.we added a PCI WiFi card rather than use a USB WiFi dongle. Added my own Bluetooth usb dongle. The chassis has Asus brand on it; perhaps motherboard is actually Asus, not sure, don’t care. They threw in 23 inch monitor for free, we upgraded to Asus monitor. They threw in cheap subwoofer/stereo external sound system that actually sounds quite good. For some reason, keyboard and mouse not included. You can buy a cheap keyboard for P250 or so. We use our own Logitech solar keyboard/mouse brought here from US. Not a bad price. As mentioned they will build while you wait if you wish. Could take a few hours from start thru final test.

Yeah I already have a Monitor, Keyboard/Mouse and a Nice Stereo/Sub Hookup so I dont need any of that crap - itd all go in storage anyways.

thanks all - i emailed ace logic, they emailed me once practically asking all the stuff I wanted in in (isnt that their job) to find out my needs? - And its been over a week since I've heard back. So i will try out some of these other places.

    Thanks again guys

i checked out several build-it-urself sites and ordered components from the states and put my desktop together myself. i found it easier than car stuff and the only tool i needed was multi-tip screwdriver. as far as making the right connections, i found everything fool proof...

I was thinking about doing that, except I've previously shipped in several computer parts, shipping, combined with the taxes they wanted upon customs inspection came out to be way overpriced and drove up the overall price of the item substantially.

FYI, I have found that these taxes are usually an overpayment at the time of invoice and they refund it back to your card in about 6 weeks. Just happened to me where half the tax came back.

i was filling a bb box at the time so the shipping cost was minimal for the pc parts. my main reason for a diy build was i wanted a quiet machine which required special ventilation and cpu fans. i also chose a ''green'' power supply. i ordered an Antec Sonata SOLO II case which was supposed to be quiet but it wasn't quiet enough.
i found most everything on amazon and learned a bunch about components by reading the reviews.

if i build another one, i'm thinking of mounting the components on a piece of plywood, filipino style, to lessen cooling issues and case noise. it could be hung on a wall or the back of a computer desk where it'd be easy to blow the dust off.

We bought ours from Ace Logic... Stupid me looked at their packages and bought from one of their options instead of asking what would be installed like I normally would have done, I assumed, my first mistake! Nondescript Chinese Motherboard, Power Supply keeps making grinding sounds until I whack it hard with the handle of my butcher's knife, memory issues galore even after I fitted the 8GB of Ram in place of the original 4GB of Ram supplied and increased the Virtual Memory! Sorry; but a very frustrating experience, including finding out that "Lifetime Warranty" (which was clearly written across the item I purchased) actually means; "Sorry, 7 Days only Sir!" An experience which equated to a comedy of errors that the Keystone Cops could not have thought up if they tried! Lesson learnt! :banghead:

They aren't mind readers. Depends on the email you sent them. Did you just ask "Can you build me a computer?"

Usually people building custom computers know exactly what they want inside.
