We were lucky to stumble in to this computer shop yesterday in search of a bunch of UPS's - The owner Carlo Matiao really knows his stuff and he got us exactly what we needed. We have also been all over Dumaguete City, looking for bigger harddrives without luck. But Carlo had SATA 320 Gig drives IN STOCK.

Carlo also knew a lot about all the products in his shop, so it was really a refreshing change from the usual runaround you get when you ask tech questions

When we tried the biggest computer store in Dumaguete City - Octagon - we were just met with blank stares and reassurances that 120 Gig harddrives were the biggest ones you can get

This morning( at 3pm ) I woke up, started my morning routine of checking my email box and reading up on the forum here and BAM my computer went out and would not turn on again. I ran down to the Outcast and we ventured in to town to see if Acelogic Computer Solutions could solve this problem.

We arrived at the computer shop around 5.10PM and they close at 6pm, so time was running. But the techies in Acelogic Computer Solutions found the problem and had us out the door before 6PM with my computer back in working conditions.

Hats off to Acelogic Computer Solutions, the best computer shop in Dumaguete City.

I know it's already been said, but I just wanted to say that I agree 100%.

It is a pleasure to see a professional at any job, and this guy is a professional and knows what he's talking about. Very refreshing change.

The Dane doesn't trust his computer to many, but felt no worries handing over his life's blood to this shop to get fixed.

If you're in Dumaguete and need some computer work or computer parts, Acelogic Computer Solutions is the place to go.

There is also a girl who works in there that looks just like my cousin back in the states. She has a great smile and her as well as the rest of the staff are great as well.

Best Computer Shop in Dumaguete City

I went back in to Ace Logics the other day to pick up my old power supply, they had it fixed and cleaned - it looked like it was brand new

Normally I would have thrown a broken power supply out, but this is a branded power supply that actually cost quite a bit, so when Carlo asked if I wnated them to try to fix it I was all ears.

P150 and my P3000+ power supply is as good as new...:D

 

I am considering buying a BASIC desktop PC for a friend a few hours out of Dumaguete. WHat are the prices like. say with 512Mb RAM and 60GB+ disk and CD/DVD ... I understand monitor type impacts cost. Say a basic 15-17" CRT ? is 15" LCD much more ?

yahhh... i agree on that..ive visited that shop many times. carlo dino is also a cool man..
i think he needs a website for his shop..
so that it would be easier for his clients to find his products.

I agree on ace logic

I have two computers and needed to upgrade my dvd player on both of them as well as install my new modem, printer for use with two the computers and a bunch of other stuff. The were just great and reasonably priced. Frances who I deal with is fantastic and whenever I have a problem or issue I can't solve they come to my place after work to help me out. I have another issue now and will be calling them to day and have no doubt they can correct it within this week.

 

I had a dissapointing experience with Octagon. I am glad to hear about ACE as I will not be going back to Octagon again. I did get a kick out of every place in town telling me my CF (Compact Flash) card was outdated and obsolete. I fear someone may want to mention this to the Canon camera company :-)

 

i found that algorithm on the highway going north, has the best engineers

ace has a good hardware range, but give install or maintenance instructions to the owner or to one of the engineers, as some of the girls are really really dippy (on re installing xp and buying an external disk - 'can u back up all data onto the new external disk, and reinstall xp' was instructed to the engineers as ' install xp, delete the data' . i arrived back to the store and was given back my laptop, told that everything had been deleted, xp reinstalled as per instructed.

luckily she was so dippy, she had forgotten to give her written instructions to the engineer. that was the only time, i nearly completely lost my temper, in the last good few years (i would have lost 200 hours of work)

octagon only has sales staff, so if there is a problem, they can not help

 

I need new keyboard for my Sony Vaio model PCG-K23, any suggestions? The part is not located in the Philippines.
