Does anyone know of a company who has storage units available in Dumaguete. I need to put my household furniture into storage for a few months until I find a place to live in town next year. Presently my stuff is in my house Bayawan City. I have a buyer for the house so need to move all of my stuff out. I am in Australia at present but will be coming to Dumaguete for a few weeks in April next year.

Wow. Google seems not to have any useful links available. Try to ask some forum member if you can storage the stuff at the members location.

Why do you want to leave Bayawan? What was not so good there?

The question has been asked several times on the forum and it has never been answered. I also just asked 3 trike drivers if they knew of any and they had no idea.

There are none.....although, if you ask around you will find some that are willing to let you store stuff in extra rooms in their homes.

I am not sure, but have to inquire someone of whom I know he always store his car for a couple of months while away from the Phils. Have no idea that storage is also suitable for furnitures. Will come back once I have received an answer.

Bayawan is a nice quiet town but lacks a good hospital, so in an emergency you have to be transported by ambulance (if available 2 hours to Dumaguete). My son had a suspected appendicitis and the public hospital said he had to go to Dumaguete for treatment. Unfortunately of the 3 ambulances available, only one was serviceable and it had already left for Dumaguete for an emergency. My wife had to get a motorcycle taxi to the next town to see if their ambulance was available (the hospital could have rang them easily but wouldn't) on getting their it had left also. In the end we hired a GT Express van to take us (P2,500) a hairraising trip but got there in under 2 hours. But the main issue is having a decent school for my 11 year old son. There are only 2 schools one public and the other a private catholic school, neither of them teach lessons in English.

Thanks for the reply. I might try to farm some to my wife's relatives although not my preferred choice as things tend to disappear!

Thanks for that, I do not have much to store, just a couple of beds, table and 4 chairs, TV and cabinet, 2 closets, washing machine and personal stuff like tools, clothes etc. all packed in boxes.

There used to be a guy with about 6 garage type units based in Bacong, he stored my stuff about 5 years ago when I send over half dozen BalikBayan Boxes. He had his place on the road from Bacong to Valencia, their names were Les and Diane but they sold up and went to live in Bulgaria so don't know if that place is still their or not. They were well know among the expats at that time so someone might be able to help there.

I got feedback from my contact. Uymatiao transport is the company that might have storage capacity available for a longer period. Just inquire.
