Has anyone found these anywhere around Duma? I went to 5 drug stores yesterday and none knew what I was talking about, even the one's with a computer to search on. Maybe there is a Philippine name for them? Urine test to check for ketones so you know if you are in ketosis or not.

Dr Google says use Lazada, or at least transfer the pic to your phone to show the local pharmacist what you want.

TBH I had never heard of them before you mentioned them so have never seen them in Duma.

 

WTF Dave???? I would have bet REAL money that I already looked on Lazada!!! You rock my friend...

 

Are you on an Atkins diet? I have used them before, way at the beginning of the diet. During a wellness call I told my insurance nurse about the keto stix . She warned me that it would extremely dangerous to go into keytosis not understanding that unless you have type 1 diabetes and you OD on insulin and crater you blood sugar level to zero, it is impossible for the human body to go into full keytosis by diet alone. The stix only tell you if you are approaching a keytogenic State of burning fat instead of storing fat...a fantastic prospect, dating back to the cavemen when only protein, not carbs, were available in the winter. And of course it is why Atkins and other keytogenic diets WORK. I suspect pharmacists here have no idea about that; if they had the stix it would only be to indicate that you injected too much insulin. Even many us doctors and nurses are clueless.

No, I did Atkins several years ago though, The sticks they were easy to find in the States. I am just wanting to watch just how many carbs it takes to kick me out of ketosis.

 

I could not find any in Duma....and Lazada was expensive when I checked last year, So I brought some I got from Amazon when I came at Christmas.. After VSG weight loss surgery and a low carb diet ... I'm down 50 pounds in 6 months..

 

I’ve been on the ketogenic diet for 13 days now. The results are pretty good. I can get a bottle of 50 keto sticks at the Fred Meyer pharmacy for $15 US. If you are still having difficulty obtaining them, I can grab you a bottle and meet up in Dumaguete on April 8th.

 

I actually just found a bottle of 100 at GNC for the same price.
