No surprise there. Watch out for that inflation rate, hasn't done anything but go up since their dear leader took office. Screwing the poor.

But they still seem to love Duterte, possibly in greater numbers that voted for him since he is a plurality winner.

Then again, tRump still enjoys the support of his voters while he screws them (and their children and grandchildren), too.

All Philippine presidents have had very high approval ratings. I don't recall ever seeing one with anything lower than a 70% approval rating. Those approval numbers means very little.

Trump has roughly the same approval ratings as he did percentage of American voters (obviously not a majority of the country). That shouldn't be a surprise given the political extremism with the left vs right in the US. Duterte actually won the popular vote with less than 40% of the vote yet somehow has a 90% approval rating. I think it is a cultural thing (Filipino Pride). It may also have something to do with how the questions are asked in the polls. Do Filipinos think that "approval" and "wishing for the best" are the same thing? Also, disapproving of a president could be seen as confrontational and show the country in a bad light to the rest of the world.....something most Filipinos will try to avoid at all costs.

If you trade the market, you don't necessarily rate the market trading quality by just the rate of appreciation. "Good" market trading is not based on continuous movement in one direction, it is based on volatility. While it might be fair to say that the market stinks in terms of reflecting the economy, being short right now on the Phil exchange could be very profitable. I traded the US markets for many years, but now that I'm here I would need to stay up all night to keep up my trading. I looked at the Phil Exchange, but they don't provide options yet, and I just trade through options, so for now I just watch.

You'll find much more support for him here than you will opposition....believe me. I personally find him to be quite the comedian. There is no way most of his tweets are not satire, tongue in cheek or blatant attempts at trolling. You can't expect a master sh*t poster of his level to not get sh*t on in return. Now, his and the Republican party's actual political agenda on the other hand.....mostly a big thumbs up from me. d*mn poor people wanting my tax dollars! p*ss off with that nonsense!

But I guess you weren't talking to me since my post didn't actually say anything bad or untrue about him. No fake news here. No sir.....believe me!

I am not an American citizen and would not comment on internal USA politics - it is (most) citizens of that country only who have the sole right to cast a vote. But a USA President is a President for most of the world (at present!) and that may cause concerns to many non-USA citizens - on that we may have the right to express an opinion.
