My brother in law has very small hemorrhoids. Does anyone knows a doctor in Dumaguete City, who controls the Rubberband Ligatur Method...in this method a rubber is simply placed around the Hemorrhoid and it dies within 4 days and just drops off. Thanks.

Your best bet might be going to a gastroenterologist, not sure you will find a procotologist per se in Dumaguete. I found the name of a gastroenterologist (and they may refer to a general surgeon for a "procedure"). The gastroenterologist I found is at Holy Child: Glimar Carriaga, M.D. I hope that he/she is still in practice and perhaps can help.

I am not sure if he would use that particular method, but for haemorrhoids try Dr Henry Tan at Holy Child.

Had to run to Dr Google for that one. If anyone else wants to know what the difference is, here is what Dr G has to say:

In Germany both INTERNAL MEDICINE and SURGERY can have this Subspeciality, Proktology, the difference is, that the surgeons like to slice and cut away and the Internists like to inject Sklerotica in the Haemorrhoids or use the rubber ligature method.

Here in the U.S. we have Colorectal (Proctology) Surgeons, and GI (Gastrointestinal Specialists) who are Internal Medicine Doctors, also. General Surgeons will also do procedures related to the above, as well as procedures related to other specialties. In my experience, it was the Colorectal Surgeons who were using the banding technique (for the simpler hemorrhoids). They would surgically remove more involved hemorrhoids. I have been involved in very lengthy (6 hours or more) surgical removal of very severe hemorrhoids.
In Dumaguete, I suspect your options are going to be limited, but not impossible. I am sure there is a Dr. there that can treat your brother-in-law. Please let us know how things turn out.
