WOW! Is it just me or what? I really had believed that prices were cheaper in PHL although I have NEVER looked around so pls excuse my IGNORANCE and don't feel this is a comment shot at the house above at all as much as it is about the TOPIC of prices/rents of beach houses.

Is this what was meant by the prices rising and becoming HIGHER due to the influx of foreigners? OUCH!

I just can't see paying 45,000 pesos rent in a society with such LOW salaries. Who could afford this other than a foreigner? and that foreigner would have to have OUTSIDE income.........surely the foreigner couldn't be working in the PHL and supporting themselves.

Pls feel free to educate me anyone on salary prices and housing and such! I am very interested to know.

I just was told by a friend living in the PHL that Dgte basic newly painted apt. rent is about 5 - 7 thousand pesos which makes me wonder when I know his college teaching salary per month is about 9 th. How do well educated, hard working, decent job positions, a family of four make it with those rent prices?

Oh and by the way...........it is a GORGEOUS house and AWESOME location and if I could figure out financially how to pay it while staying in the PHL then I certainly would!

And making the money needed to live there - while living there - is kind of impossible as you can't get any decent Internet provider in that area.

Tried it and it didnt work out, so we moved to a better location for work.
