    To all,

Hi, I'm new here and read a few posts about obtaining a cheaper long-term/investment visa if you are a veteran , so I don't have to keep extending my tourist one, but was unable to find any detailed information or a link about this. Can someone post a link so I can get more information about this?

Yes, it's the SRRV, got mine oct 2016, renewed 2017, all thru SRRV. Renewal done by email with cebu.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A VETERAN, just served with a DD214 (like for my 3 yrs). If i rmember it's a courtesy SRRV, and deposit is $1400 instead of $10,000.
Well worth the effort, just do a search of the forum for SRRV, tons of postings...

My short experience with PRA Manila. The people are wonderful and very helpful. I had almost everything. Needed to make a copy of DD Fm 214 and get that along with my Retired pay statement notarized at Embassy. Then it has to go to DFA but they have a person there that will do it for you and you are done. One draw back though. I am on a resident visa and therefore not eligible the SRRV. It is only open to people with visitor visas 9A's not 13A's. I explained that immigration told me I needed to submit a copy of my annulment or divorce order with the request for change. My annulment is in process but that is one long process, especially when the judge retires and you have to wait for a new one to be assigned. I will talk with my attorney and see if there is a work around like voluntarily giving up current status and switching to visitor status. The NBI Clearance has an expiration date so I might need a new one of those, along with a new medical examination. One good thing, since I have lived here for over 12 years, I don't need a clearance from any police agency in my home country, just a Barangay Clearance that indicates I lived there at least 5 years.

I think you can go back to a tourist visa. Several years ago I had some trouble with documents ( an unannounced change in the rules) to change from a 13a probationary visa to permanent. The BI wanted me to go back to a tourist visa.
You could stop in at the local BI. Sir Peter can be quite helpful.
    Good luck

Somebody in another thread asked about proof of financial. Usually any form of 1098 or 1099 (for US) is sufficient.

So interest and investment income could potentially count as proof of income? On the PRA website it says:
"A monthly pension of at least US$1,000.00 and an SRR Visa deposit of US$1,500.00 are required."

In their "Info Guide" for SRRV Classic they say "Certificate of Retirement Benefits equivalent to $800/mo". For the SRRV Expanded Courtesy they say "Proof of monthly pension or any other similar benefits of at least $1000".

What is their definition of "Retirement Benefits" and "any other similar benefits"?

I would think that "retirement benefits" would be pensions, 401ks and IRAs and that "any other similar benefit" for the military side would be disability checks or the military's newer 401k-ish retirement thing. But if you are saying they accept 1098 and 1099 forms then they may accept other types of income.

I sent them an email asking for clarification. I'll post their reply when/if it is received.

Scratch that. No I didn't. The PRA email address given on their "Info Guide" is invalid. Big surprise there.

The best email for PRA Cebu is JackieCalumpang2012@gmail.com, say you got her address from one of her most satisfied clients in Duma. Very few businesses in the Philippines answer emails unless they know the person sending or have an introduction...

The problem was with their email, not with the unwillingness to reply:
    "Address not found
Your message wasn't delivered to inquiry@pra.gov.ph because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail."
Or maybe there is a typo in there somewhere.

I have bookmarked your post. If I am ever in real need of the information I will give it a go. Thanks.
