Can't remember exactly what it is but think there is 10Hz difference between Oz and Phil so a clock radio will run faster or slower. Hence my wondering about a cable tv recorder on timer setting.
There is. Philippines is one of the few countries that uses 220V at 60Hz (the most optimal combination according to Tesla...they did something right). Most complex modern electronics (laptop/cellphone chargers, DVRs, gaming consoles, etc) are, generally, going to convert the input power to what they need. Simple electronics (kitchen appliances, alarm clocks, lamps/lightbulbs, etc) are, generally, the exception. If you see "100-250V" and "50/60Hz" as the "Input" written on the box or item then it will work in the Philippines (and pretty much anywhere else in the world you are going to want to visit).
Yeah, other devices do exist... You can record pretty much anything that uses HDMI with one of these: YK940 4K HDMI HD 1080P Video Capture Box UHD Recorder Box for DVD PC XBOX PS4 - intl | Lazada PH Just use an external hard drive, USB memory stick, SD memory card or direct to a computer to use as storage.
What I said was too critical and I didn't want to get arrested so I erased it. However, you mentioned 220V 60Hz. In my area NORECO supplies from 145V to 217V with it normally running about 160V to 190V. Oddly, the igniter on the stove will not work with less than 190V. I usually either have to light the oven/burners with a match or wait until 1.00 AM to cook.
