Hey Guys recently installed deep well, all up and running, now Im after suggestions as to how to clean it inside (its more about disinfecting the tank, than actually cleaning it from debris), we had the water tested from the outfit in Dumaguete that does it, and it didn't pass, it failed very very marginally. The water is drinkable for sure, just trying to get it below the treshold numbers Im thinking about just bleaching the tank, any other suggestion regarding the DISINFECTING of the tank or indeed the well , casing for the well is 2 inch.its a best tank 1000 litre horizontal tank, its on ground level
I have two ferrocement tanks for the rainwater we collect, 32 & 47 ton each. Ones a month I add some chlorine I use for the pool. It seems that this is sufficient but I'm not sure. Would like to have the water tested, could you please give me the name/address of the place you have this done? Thanks
Put a ltr of zonrox through the system now and then, this will kill any bugs or bacteria. Not too often as may kill the septic tanks if too much.
We have a tank for washing only. Not to high-jack this thread but how can I clean the inside of the tank? It's plastic about the same size as shotshapers. 1000 litres but on the third floor. Not disinfection but actually cleaning it from debris that has settled on the bottom?
After our well was completed we had the water tested by the Dumaguete City Water District, they were very good. It was minimal cost, and they will send a guy to your location to collect sterile water samples. Within a week they provide two reports, a chemical and bacterial report. Our water passed the chemical test, but failed the bacterial test. We did a "well shock" treatment where I just got two bottles of clorox and dumped them down the well, then waited 24 hours, then ran the well a lot every day for a week. When they re-tested we passed all of the tests. But since we will be using our well for our household water (including drinking water) I still installed a treatment system consisting of various micron filters, an activated charcoal filter, a water softener, an RO unit, and a UV unit. Now the water coming out of the tap in our house is better quality than you would find in most bottled water.
Thanks a lot, will go there. Did you take and bring the sample and what's the charge? Seems we're neighbors. We live on the Silab road three km from the highway.
1050 pesos for bacteria test ( a bit expensive in my opinion), they charge extra if they come and do it, if you do it yourself , you need to go there 1st to get their testing bottles. some of the tests you can do yourself , and you can buy water testing kits from the USA on ebay. the 2nd list is cumpulsory if wanting to open a water station along with a few other tests too
