Yes, it must have been 2008 or 2009. It was at the old site in late 2007 when I came here. Also there were in those years two quality ethnic restaurants that failed for lack of custom. One Chinese, adjacent to Hypermart. The other Italian, in a street off the Boulevard; the name is still there but it's an internet cafe. Now it appears, sadly, that Jamrock Cafe is about to fail.

I believe it was being built when I arrived late '07, the first MacD at Quezon Park, that is. CoCo Amigo I believe was here at that time. About the restaurant at the front of the Why Not, it was said that the food used to be much better. FoodNet in those days did not make people sick.

Gia’s (Vegan style) 300 m east off of Hibbard Road on Neva Restaurant Road. Gia’s is a new restaurant started by a Nutrionist from Silliman University. It looks like a private house but they stand a sign outside after opening. Attach part of their menu (photo).
A friend and I ate their and the food is very good and not expensive. Seating is outside under roofing and umbrella tables at the rear side of the house adjacent to the kitchen.

It is Chia's! Funny, a friend of mine actually just told me about it (as we were eating at Alima... also really good!). Really healthy food, I've been told. I'm checking that out tomorrow.

Kri has some good points but could be so much better.

Had lunch there - only two of us but they took 15 minutes just to START making the mango shakes. We have had many mango shakes at various restaurants but these ones were VERY weak-tasting - and cost P95 each!

The 'roasted tomato soup' was very tasty but cost P155. I like their 'chicken tikka massala' but it is really such a tiny portion for P199 (even though it is listed as an 'appetiser' it is still poor value). The 'Classic Caesar salad' at P185 consisted of lettuce leaves (as it should) but only 4 croutons, with dressing. The 'baby back ribs' tasted okay but, again, at P230, were poor value for the quantity (my wife's favourite ribs is at Pasta King).

Another very strange thing, for a so-called quality restaurant, is how they patch up their menu (image below) - it really makes it seem shoddy. I counted 18 stickers over menu items and prices; if so many changes are made then reprint it! Capture.PNG
