    I hear you but... people do not usually rob and kill people for the next drink... (granted they kill people with their cars) and that seems to be the deciding factor. Treatment and a rising economy would seem to be the real solution to the drug problem but blah blah blah ....

    "Alcoholics" (aka drug addicts) rob and/or kill people all the time due to and/or to support their addiction. Addiction is addiction, it doesn't matter what your poison is. Just because alcohol gets its own words does not make it any less of an addictive drug. If you use alcohol (ethanol) you are a drug user, you may not be a drug abuser...but that's how it works with most drugs. Most people that use drugs, illicit or otherwise, are not addicts. And most people who use illicit drugs do not rob or kill for their next high.

    Personally, I find alcohol worse than many other illicit drugs. Mainly because I think personal harm is a lessor evil than harming others...and alcohol ranks very high (the highest I believe) in the "harm to others" category.

    That's an interesting survey that was done in the UK. Alcohol being number one is not a surprise.
    I have a feeling that ratings would vary by country. The survey shows meth as being more harmful to the user than others. Around here it seems a lot of drug related killing results from someone ripping someone off or failing to remit. Getting murdered for stealing stuff from the wrong person, etc.
    Pot looks pretty dangerous according to the survey. Could the survey be a little biased?
