Pot can be quite harmful to others. Driving or working while high is a horrible idea and can lead to disasters. People can also become addicted to weed and self destruct. It is not as harmless as the pot lobbyists would have everyone believe. Important to note that "surveys" are not "studies". How people "feel" or self report about something is usually not reliable or based on fact.
I'm not sure "studies" are better than the experience to judge what is the consequence of the use of pot/marijuana, which is individual like the use of other drugs like alcohol
Translation: This study might just be total bull**it. The estimates have been estimated. MJ in part probably has far more data than most of these other drugs. And there's lots of overlap, I'm sure. I have had friends get arrested for DUI after hitting the bars but then actually get charged with possession (which they did have on them) and driving under the influence of Marijuana. They didn't get tested for marijuana, but the MJ automatically took precedence on the paperwork. The high ranking of MJ doesn't surprise me. It probably accounts for most of the criminal sales on the streets. Weed busts are next to alcohol (DUI vs possession) in affecting the widest swath of the population. One arrest for possession of MJ can result in loss of job, loss of money and loss of honey. MJ has probably been the most major source of cash-flow for the cartels. It's that cash flow which funds all their other fun. Much of this list is a result of the war on drugs for something which should be legal.
Good idea for individuals. Not so useful when talking about how an entire population of people react to a drug. You also should take the studies and available information on the "average" reaction, potential harm and risks any specific drug would have prior to putting it into your body. There is a right way and a wrong way to experiment with drugs. Agree. It should be legal.
[QUOTE=" Treatment and a rising economy would seem to be the real solution to the drug problem but blah blah blah ....[/QUOTE] I agree 100%, with the treatment issue and the blablabla, it's hopeless on this planet. on one hand, people with a bad life tend to take drugs, on the other hand, people always took always drugs, as history shows. some say; even Jesus Christ did :-)
