I have done my due diligence and read what I could find both on this site and the government's site, but I must ask. Can I initiate an SSRV military in-country as a tourist or must it be started in my country of residence?
I started everything two months AFTER i got here at the PRA (Philippine Retirement Authority) office in Cebu, while i had a tourist visa. Manila is working on getting a PRA office in dumaguete, but it will be years, many years.. Check out the many SRRV threads under the Expat forums. Note your DD214 is THE record to drop your deposit to $1500 instead of $10,000.. I didn't even know about it until Jackie at PRA cebu told me about it...
I knew about the advantages. I just wanted to find out if my exploratory visit could be combined with the application. My real concern is getting Philhealth as $600 a month for travel health insurance can be a drag and knowing there is a delay in getting it started, I just wanted to understand the minimum and maximum time frames. Thank you.
